People You Should Know: Chris Williams

This week check out the who, what, when, where, and why of local clothing designer Chris Williams. You may have already checked out his LXRD brand, now you get to learn a little more about the man behind it.

IMG_1507Who are you?
My name is Chris Williams, owner and founder of LXRD Clothing brand.

What do you do?
I design street wear clothes for very rare men and women.

When did you start doing it?
I started less than a year ago, inspired by great and bad situations in my life. I’m putting all my inspirations on clothes that I have been through, seen, or things that inspire me. I’ve always had a love for street wear brands and high-end fashion. Growing up in Florida & Oregon I saw a lot of come and go trends in my upbringing. I always wanted to make a brand since I was 16 years old. I remember in 2006 I would catch the bus to Hawthorne window shopping looking at clothes I wish I had and spending money at thrift stores and Boutiques on OG street wear brands and such. But when I was done with college this past year I knew it was perfect time for me to start my own line. And its been going great so far.

Why should we like it?
I believe my brand isn’t like a lot that’s out right now, I see a lot of brands doing the same thing as the next brand. Every piece I put out is very different, limited, great quality, and….its dope
